Rosanjin's first began experimenting with decorated ceramics in 1915 by hypothesizing on the relationship between food and the design of the kitchenware. He later opened an art gallery in Japan where he served food on his decorated ceramics.
When the Great Tokyo earthquake hit Japan, his arts were destroyed. He later went into crafting pottery which surpassed the classical forms of Chinese pottery. His work became famous for their simple and original designs. He is also a master in Japanese calligraphy so he started incorporating them into his pottery.
