Looking Up - by Hal Lasko |
They describe 98 year old Hal Lasko’s art style as “a blend
of pointillism and 8-Bit art.”
What Hal Lasko, better known as Grandpa, can do with
Microsoft Paint is amazing no matter how you describe it.
After working as a graphic designer for years and creating
works for the likes of General Tire, Goodyear, The Cleveland Browns and
American Greetings, Mr. Lasko retired in the 1970's.
Sometime after retiring, Mr. Lasko’s family showed him the
computer program MS Paint and from then on he began to devote his new found
free time to perusing his creative aspirations through this little used medium.
It is said that in the hands of a true artist it doesn’t
matter the quality of the materials or mediums. With his use of an outdated medium, one that most artists would consider beneath them, he is a testament to that.
